Mass Golf Case Study in Branding & Website Design Services
Teeing up the New Website
The MGA (Massachusetts Golf Association) and WGAM (Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts) merged to form MassGolf, the hub for golfers and member clubs across the Commonwealth.
RainCastle’s role was to create a compelling, modern digital/mobile presence for MassGolf that will attract and motivate new members while respecting the traditions of the sport and the organizations from which MassGolf has emerged.
Introducing the new MassGolf brand
To establish the new MassGolf brand for members and prospective members we created a special brand landing page that introduces the logo, the thought behind it, the strategic mission, core values, key services and a video that shares the story.
The Mass Golf site fields enormous website traffic for golfers seeking to enter competitions, post scores, locate a member club, find an event or check their handicap. With such high traffic and so many content options, creating a fast and easy user experience was paramount.
Part of bringing MassGolf into the 21st century was creating a modern, responsive website experience with a visual library of icons to enhance rapid communication. These icons form a visual language that will be repurposed in all manner of communications from digital to print.
Key Website Features
Based on analytics and client insight, we built the site around a set of most visited “landing pages” to enable people to find a golf club, participate in tournaments and personalize their own golf experience. These pages are gateways to detail pages.
Find A Club
Anyone that wants to play golf anywhere in the state can come to this page to either find a specific club or get a selection of member clubs in their area.
Via a visual display of tiles, golfers can easily scroll through the selection of competitons in the state.
Members get their own personal pages to manage their golf life. Here they can find out about events, post scores, calculate their handicap , register for an event and more.
“We’ve had the pleasure of working with RainCastle for quite a few years, on our previous site as well as the new one. Both were excellent experiences. Their dedicated client service and deep insight into our organization has resulted in now two websites of which we are very proud.”
