President, Creative Director
A key reason why so many of RainCastle’s clients become repeat clients is that they trust Paul and the RainCastle team to understand their business and goals and turn this knowledge into compelling visual communications, websites and marketing programs that achieve positive results.
Paul began his career as a designer, who quickly developed writing skills, and evolved into a business leader skilled in telling the complex stories of RainCastle’s clients, leveraging the evolving toolbox of the digital industry.
“As corporate marketing budgets have been steadily reduced, we find more clients looking to us, not only to tell their stories, but as their external marketing departments, executing their brand, web and marketing programs. Over our 23 years, we’ve developed the perfect skill set to be this kind of valuable resource,” says Paul.
A graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, Paul had a multidisciplinary entrée into the business. Prior to starting RainCastle, he worked for entertainment giants, Walt Disney and MGM/UA. He also was the Art Director for Easel Corporation, an early UI pioneer in the high technology space.
When not working on the business, Paul loves to cycle around Cape Ann — where he lives with his wife Robin — photograph, read, cook and kayak.
VP of Interactive Technology
John is characterized by his ability to take the complex, whether it’s technology, business concepts or website navigation, and make it simple and easy to understand for clients and colleagues. Clients appreciate his consultative approach and genuine passion for solving problems.
In addition to managing the creation of interactive websites and interactive applications, John brings 25 years of usability experience to his role of chief information architect and is a significant contributor in the areas of marketing and technology strategy. On a day-to-day level, John is the bridge between marketing and creative goals and technology implementation.
Prior to joining RainCastle, John co-founded and ran the Internet consulting firm, Matchpoint Systems. Previously, he held a variety of senior management positions at Easel Corporation, a Massachusetts software company, where he had management responsibility for product strategy, consulting services, training, customer services, and technical support. Over his career at Easel as well as Digital Equipment Corp. and Data General, John has also trained thousands of users on the effective use of technology applications. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the State University of New York and a master’s in information technology from American University.
Director of Client Strategy
As Director of Client Strategy, Jill effectively directs our B2B client engagements ensuring a strategic focus on website design and development, search engine optimization, lead generation, branding and social media. Jill leads RainCastle’s project management to ensure that all client work meets our high standards for strategy, creative direction, development, measurement, and site optimization planning. The result is exceptional work that meets our clients’ marketing objectives and their customer or prospects needs.
Jill’s expertise in client service, website development and Internet marketing was gained from both agency and client side experience. Prior to RainCastle, Jill was the Director of Marketing at Familyeducation.com where she developed visitor acquisition and retention marketing programs to build that business into one of the most visited parenting sites on the Internet. She began her Internet work with Digitas as an account manager where she was responsible for a variety of B2C accounts.
