We’re excited to share the launch of the newly redesigned PharmaEssentia U.S. website, a project we truly enjoyed working on from start to finish in an effort that brought together biotech strategy, UX planning, custom design, and scientific storytelling, resulting in a modern website that better reflects PharmaEssentia’s innovation, mission, and growing impact.

Why a Redesign Was Needed

PharmaEssentia is a fully integrated global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing best in class therapies for patients with blood disorders and hematologic cancers. As the organization continued to grow and evolve, their U.S. website needed to do a better job reflecting who they are today and where they’re headed next.

The goal of the redesign was clear. Create a modern biotech website that feels credible, current, and easy to navigate, while making complex scientific content easier to understand and explore.


A Website Built Around Real Users

One of the biggest improvements came from rethinking the site structure and ensure the navigation matched how people actually use the site.

From the outset, our approach focused on aligning content structure, design, and messaging with how different audiences actually engage with biotech websites.

Navigation Built Around User Intent

We helped reorganize and simplify the main navigation to better serve key audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and partners. The updated structure groups content logically across:

  • Science focusing on product information, clinical trials, and publications
  • Innovation highlighting technology, research pipeline, and manufacturing
  • Patients providing resources, advocacy, and patient stories
  • News and Company featuring updates, leadership, history, and company information

This streamlined navigation makes it easier for users to quickly find what matters most to them without overwhelming the experience.

In addition to design and UX, RainCastle provided full website copywriting support. Our role was to help translate complex medical and scientific information into clear, confident messaging that still maintains accuracy and credibility.

Every page was written with multiple audiences in mind, from healthcare professionals looking for detailed information to visitors who are just beginning to learn about PharmaEssentia and its work.


A Custom Design That Supports the Story

From a design perspective, this was a fully custom biotech website. Early in the process, we explored multiple homepage design directions before refining and building out the final experience together.

The homepage sets the tone with strong imagery that connects healthcare providers and patients, followed by clear pathways to latest news, innovation, and science focused content. Throughout the site, a minimalist design approach helps keep pages clean and readable, while white content blocks and subtle structure guide the eye and highlight what matters most.


Thoughtful Details That Make a Difference

One feature we especially like is the global site selector in the header. With a simple interaction, users can access the global website, headquarters site, or global entities directory without being pulled away from their current experience.

The About the Company section was also redesigned into a single, scrollable experience, while still allowing users to jump directly to leadership, history, and related sections through the navigation. It is a small change that makes a big difference in usability.

As with all of our projects, the PharmaEssentia U.S. website was designed to perform seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The experience is consistent, intuitive, and built to scale as content continues to grow.
