In a challenging time for the construction industry, Shawmut had the foresight to revamp the website to support their changing business model, highlight important new projects and build the Shawmut brand as a key differentiator. This was RainCastle's second website for Shawmut in a seven-year relationship.
RainCastle built a deep site for Shawmut — consisting of hundreds of pages — which works on a three key levels, Brand, Vertical Market and Portfolio. Beginning with the homepage, the first thing a visitor sees is an interactive sequence of images accompanied with our new tagline for Shawmut, "Great Work. Great to Work With. Great Place to Work." The sequence then resolves on the phrase, "Welcome to the Shawmut Advantage," which is a link that invites the user to click. Once they do, they are taken to an interactive "Shawmut Advantage" application, which provides proof points for the tagline thus reinforcing the Shawmut brand.
The main homepage navigation encourages the user — by means of an interactive navigation tool — to select the vertical market in which they are interested. As the user rolls over the vertical market navigation, an appropriate image appears with a link to that section.
Once the user goes to a vertical market subpage, they are greeted with an easy-to-use interface that displays the depth of sub-categories Shawmut serves in the particular market. Each sub-category is then represented by the collection of projects Shawmut has completed. Each project includes a selection of beautiful images that highlight Shawmut's work. Project images are accompanied with links to the project team, data sheets with job specifications, and awards won, when applicable.
In the right hand column of each interior page is a list of other projects relevant to the one being viewed. This is a helpful business development tool in that it demonstrates Shawmut's depth of experience.
The combination of the new Shawmut Advantage application with ROI proof points and the revamped portfolio section, position Shawmut favorably for challenging times.
